Đôi tay Nếu là một thế giới hoàn hảo, hẳn mỗi đứa con sẽ trang bị thêm cho người mẹ một đôi tay để giúp đỡ. Người mẹ luôn luôn có quá nhiều thứ để gánh vác! Nào là tã lót, nào là ba lô, nào là bánh kẹo và bình sữa, rồi đồ ăn sáng, bơ, nước, trái cây, và cả đồ vắt sữa nữa. Rồi khăn tay và vài quả chuối, thêm cây dù phòng khi trời mưa, vài quyển sách để đọc, vài cây bút tô màu, và này, mẹ có nhớ mang theo gói bánh không? Làm ơn giúp mẹ một tay nhé. Tại phi trường, hay nhà ga, mẹ phải tự thu xếp với đứa con mới sinh, với đứa con chập chững đi, với đống đồ lộn xộn và một túi xách sắp đứt quai. Mẹ đây rồi, tay này đẩy hành lý, em bé trong vòng tay kia đang muốn giãy ra khỏi tấm khăn quấn quanh mình. Hãy nhìn mẹ lo cho con ăn với ly nước cạnh bên và một bản đồ thành phố rối rắm. Quên đi những bó hoa hồng, những ổ bánh kem, và ánh trăng lãng mạn. Điều một người mẹ thực sự cần đó là thêm một đôi tay! Arms In a perfect world, every child would come equipped with an extra pair of arms for mom. Mothers always have so much to carry! Diaper bags and backpacks and extra sweaters and animal crackers and juice and cheese and fruit and bottles and breast pumps. Tissues and bananas and an umbrella in case it rains, books for reading and crayons for coloring, and oh, did we mention snacks? Could we please have a hand for the mothers? They navigate airports with newborns and toddler twins and nine pieces of mismatched luggage and a shoulder bag that should be put out of its misery. There she goes, lugging lawn chairs across the patio while a babe in arms squirms out of its bottom-heavy diaper. Watch her balance three paper plates, two wineglasses, a sippy cup, and a puzzle map of the United States, all the while getting stock quotes from her cell phone. Forget the roses, the candy, the moonlight. What a mother really needs is more arms!
