Two Brahmagupta problems - K. R. S. Sastry D. E. Smith reproduces two problems from Brahmagupta's work Kutakhadyaka (algebra) in his History of Mathematics, Volume 1. One of them involves a broken tree and the other a mountain journey. Normally such objects are represented by vertical line segments. However, it is every day experience that such objects need not be vertical.
